Why do I need this medicine?
Paracetamol and Codeine are combined together in this medicine.

This medicine helps relieve pain. It is used to treat moderate to severe pain when milder painkillers are not effective.
How do I take this medicine?
Take Paracetamol+Codeine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.

This medicine is available as a tablet, capsule, caplet or as an effervescent tablet.

If you are taking the tablet, capsule or caplet, swallow it whole with a glass of water.

If you have been given the effervescent tablet, dissolve and mix the tablet completely in a glass of water before taking it.

You may stop taking this medicine when you have no more pain.
What should I do if I have forgotten to take this medicine?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
When should I not use this medicine?
Alert your doctor if you have the following conditions:

- severe liver disease
- severe kidney disease
- lung disease or breathing problems
- recent biliary tract surgery
- head trauma or injuries
- alcohol dependence
as this medicine may not be suitable for you.

Do not breastfeed while you are being treated with this medicine.

Do not give this medicine to children below 12 years old or for those who had undergone an operation in the tonsils or nasal passages.

Do not take Paracetamol+Codeine if you are currently taking or have taken a medicine known as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxacid, phenelzine and tranylcypromine in the last 14 days.
What should I take note of while taking this medicine?
Inform your doctor if you the following conditions:

- liver disease
- kidney disease
- prostate enlargement
- bowel disorder or inflammation
- Addison's disease (disorder of the adrenal glands)

Let your doctor know if you are pregnant.

Avoid long-term use of any painkillers including Paracetamol+Codeine. Do not take this medicine for any other purpose other than what your doctor has advised.
What side effects could I experience?
Paracetamol+Codeine may causes drowsiness or dizziness. If affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.

This medicine may cause any of the following side effects: constipation, rash, headache, nausea and vomiting.

Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Can I take this with other medicines?
Do not take Paracetamol+Codeine if you are currently taking or have taken a medicine known as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxacid, phenelzine and tranylcypromine in the last 14 days.

Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines:

- blood thinning medicine e.g. warfarin
- cholesterol-lowering medicine e.g. colestyramine
- stomach medicines e.g. metoclopramide, domperidone
- antibiotic e.g. chloramphenicol
- medicines for irregular or abnormal heartbeat e.g. quinidine
- medicines for epilepsy (fits or seizures) e.g. phenytoin, phenobarbital

This list does not include all medicines that may interact with this medicine.

Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
What special dietary instructions should I follow?
Avoid alcohol.
How should I store this medicine?
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.

Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
